MEET SAZ

Saz has spent 14+ years working and thriving in the field of art education as an award winning artist and educator. She owns a freelance illustration/creative workshop business called Saz Factory Inc. and uses illustrative storytelling as a vehicle for unlocking and elevating the creative mindset.

Saz's work embraces the feeling of being lost and rediscovering identity through the traumatic loss of her mother. Her whimsical, playful, and curious imagery of architecture, nature, and wildlife allows viewers to question unusual juxtapositions of familiar subjects. Her high contrast imagery has been seen on record albums, skateboards, billboards, product labels, and on the walls of buildings. She is no stranger to covering any surface with her doodles and enjoys sharing her art and story in diverse spaces-galleries, schools, magazines, podcasts, businesses, conferences, and the list goes on.

In the midst of storytelling through illustration, Saz enjoys speaking and facilitating art workshops for businesses and educational institutions across the country. She uses her love of art education to facilitate professional development workshops for the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Out of School Time Network as a Roster Artist and College/Career Ambassador. Saz is also the former Educational Director of an art education non-profit called Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC)-an organization devoted to building art programs for underserved communities across the Mid Atlantic region of the United States. In her time at LTYC, Saz was able to impact and reach thousands of lives in schools, detention centers, 55+ and homeless communities.

Saz has been featured on TedEx, The Bespoke Diaries Publications, Empowering Women in Industry, and on NBC News for her artwork, speaking, and creative workshops. She uses all her platforms to encourage people to take creative risks and STAND OUT to acquire personal and professional growth.

Saz now illustrates at her home studio in Hampden, Baltimore with her husband Dave, baby daughter Valerie, and many dead plants. Saz wants anyone to be able to access their creative mindset in order to prosper in all areas of life. She continues to inspire female leaders, artists, educators, businesses, and impoverished communities to use their story and creativity as fuel to enhance their lifestyle while making positive and mindful changes in our world.
